Venue Director
Vibrant, dedicated, passionate, kind, Melissa has spent nearly 30 years creating exceptional weddings and special events. An award-winning event planner and experienced venue manager, she is known for her attention to detail, clear communication, creative vision, and her solution-focused approach.
At the Historic Burroughs Home & Gardens, Melissa oversees the operations of all weddings and special events while also supporting the estate's historic tours and visitor experiences. Her dedication helps ensure every guest—whether attending a wedding, community event, or guided tour—enjoys the warmth, beauty, and rich history that make the Burroughs Home such a treasured Southwest Florida landmark.
Inspired by her husband, children, family, and friends, Melissa enjoys traveling and spending time with her loyal Basset Hound. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota, along with certifications in project management and event planning. An active community volunteer, Melissa has served on several nonprofit boards.

Since joining the Historic Burroughs Home & Gardens in 2023, Jacqueline has become a favorite among visitors for her engaging storytelling and deep appreciation of the estate's remarkable history. As our fearless tour leader, she leads docent-guided tours that bring the Burroughs family legacy and early Fort Myers to life through fascinating stories and historical insight.
A seasoned docent with a warm, welcoming style, Jacqueline captivates guests of all ages, making every tour both educational & entertaining. Beyond her role with our historic tours, she also provides dedicated support to weddings and special events, ensuring every guest experience reflects the exceptional hospitality and timeless elegance of the Burroughs Home & Gardens.
