Located in the vibrant River District of downtown Fort Myers, the Burroughs Home & Gardens is the only historic home of its era still standing in its original location and open to the public. Learn about the Burroughs family and the many notable Americans who visited the home, including Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.

Lovingly preserved, the home remains authentic to the early 1900s, featuring original furnishings and family photographs—making it a true must-see for history lovers.

Stroll beneath majestic live oaks, wander through lush gardens, or relax in a rocking chair on the stately verandah while watching the Caloosahatchee River gently roll by. Then, join Mona and Jettie Burroughs, the privileged daughters of businessman Nelson Burroughs and his wife Adeline, as they share engaging stories and delightful tales of growing up in one of Fort Myers’ grandest mansions.
