A New Twist on Tours at the Burroughs Home!

Groups of 10 or more wishing to tour the historic Burroughs Home can now add an adventurous tea experience, with the option of one of two programs! Presented by local author, speaker, and playwright Laurie Nienhaus, guests can choose from either “For the Love of Lavender” or “How on Earth did tea Make it This Far?”

Following both of these short, fun programs is light tea fare. For the “Love of Lavender,” all scrumptious selections feature lavender. For “How on Earth did tea Make it This Far,” the appetizing assortments feature items using tea as an ingredient. Read more

Burroughs Home Hosts “Locals Appreciation Day”

Special summer weekend tour

The historic Burroughs Home & Gardens located along the downtown riverfront at 2505 First Street in Fort Myers, Florida is holding a special “Locals Appreciation Day” open house on Saturday, July 16th beginning at noon for Southwest Florida residents. Recent renovations have the historic property looking better than it has in a century. The home was built in 1901 and bequeathed to the City of Fort Myers in 1978. Today, it is managed by the Uncommon Friends Foundation. Read more
