The Burroughs Home & Gardens is taking reservations and finalizing plans for its inaugural “Brunch on the River: An Inspirational Bridal Exposé” to be held on November 11, 2018 to showcase the venue’s expansive waterfront views, alongside an array of over 45 wedding professionals and services.

The strolling tour will introduce engaged couples to the grandeur of this historic, 1901 Georgian Revival style mansion located at 2505 First Street in downtown Fort Myers. Read more

New 3D Virtual Tour of Holiday House

Visitors can now see the historic Burroughs Home decorated for the holidays like never before, thanks to Fort Myers-based 3D Interspace Solutions. The company digitally scanned the Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club’s 60th annual Holiday House using state-of-the-art, 4K ultra high definition (UHD) to create the 3D virtual tour of this annual event for worldwide viewers. The long time tradition of decorating for Holiday House is considered a gift to the visitors from the Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club. Burroughs Home Hosts Final Tea Party of the Season

The historic Burroughs Home & Gardens will host its final tea party of the season on Tuesday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m. “The Victorian Fairy Painting Tea” is presented by local historical entertainer Laurie Nienhaus and will include a presentation of quality reprints of the great fairy paintings of the Victorian era. Guests will enjoy the scenery of the beautiful gardens from the dancing porch, while learning about the quirks associated with the unique genre of art. Light afternoon tea fare fit for a fairy will be served. Read more

NEW! Tea Parties Added to Tour Choices

A New Twist on Tours at the Burroughs Home!

Groups of 10 or more wishing to tour the historic Burroughs Home can now add an adventurous tea experience, with the option of one of two programs! Presented by local author, speaker, and playwright Laurie Nienhaus, guests can choose from either “For the Love of Lavender” or “How on Earth did tea Make it This Far?”

Following both of these short, fun programs is light tea fare. For the “Love of Lavender,” all scrumptious selections feature lavender. For “How on Earth did tea Make it This Far,” the appetizing assortments feature items using tea as an ingredient. Read more

Burroughs Home Hosts “Locals Appreciation Day”

Special summer weekend tour

The historic Burroughs Home & Gardens located along the downtown riverfront at 2505 First Street in Fort Myers, Florida is holding a special “Locals Appreciation Day” open house on Saturday, July 16th beginning at noon for Southwest Florida residents. Recent renovations have the historic property looking better than it has in a century. The home was built in 1901 and bequeathed to the City of Fort Myers in 1978. Today, it is managed by the Uncommon Friends Foundation. Read more
